Rome, September 15. The work of the Chapter concluded during the evening of this day dedicated to Our Lady of Sorrows. This was ahead of schedule – the Chapter was to conclude on September 16 – thanks to the quickness with which this Chapter has worked, and thanks above all to the use of the tablets for voting in the plenary assembly.

Meeting Pope Francis

Each Capuchin General Chapter has two appointments of fundamental importance: the first, in Assisi, at the tomb of the Seraphic Father St. Francis, which is a sort of return to the sources of our own story, and which in this Chapter was made on September 8. The second is to meet the Pope, of whom Francis himself had requested approval of his form of life.

The General Chapter Begins to Conclude

Rome, September 13. The Chapter is moving towards its final moments. Yesterday, September 12, the friars gathered after lunch in the Collegio garden for the group photo. They were also joined for lunch by the American Capuchin Cardinal, Br. Seán Patrick O’Malley, Archbishop of Boston, who, after participating in the meeting of the Council of Cardinals at the Vatican, wished to greet the brother capitulars.

A Paperless General Chapter

Rome, September 12. The General Chapter, which will conclude in a few days, continues to reflect on and discuss the topics on the agenda and which have been detailed in the preceding news items. Today we would like to note how the Chapter intended to reduce the consumption of paper, which in some ways can be very high as well as unsustainably expensive.
